The LifeLine!!

Everyday, as I stand on the platform waiting for my local Train..

The visions of the Never Sleeping City, get imprinted in my brain!!

I see some squashing others for the window seat..

Some not yet adapted to the sweltering Mumbai heat!!

I see people running, as if it were their last local..

A blind couple, earning their daily bread by singing melodious vocals!!

In return of good luck, a transgender asking for alms..

An amputated beggar, to survive, clenching his palms!!

A couple who's being cosy neglecting hundreds of gazeful stares..

A poor child, giving a hug to his dog, expressing how much he cares!!

An office going youth, for whom at present, money probably can handle a lot of responsibilities..

Is eating a jumbo vadapav as breakfast, at the buzzing IRCTC approved eateries!!

A woman listening to songs looking out of the coach window..

A seller hiding products from a ticket collector to avoid letting his cover blow!!

Grandparents with bags full of sweets heading to meet their grandchildren..

A college student writing the last word of her college assignment, happily boasting 'DONE'!!

Hearing the regret announcement for train delays as they do every single day..

Nodding in despair, through the crowded bridge, people making their way..

A student searching for his friend, with directions guiding over the phone..

A policeman observing people, making his presence strongly known!!

A possible pickpocketer silently searching for his new target..

Two friends waving dramatically at each other, as if after many years, they have met!!

A few people looking at the watch, clearly running late to their destinations..

Are regretting in the heads over their habit of procrastination..

As the train arrives, I gear myself to an invisible battle of seats..

Just like the rest of the millions, struggling to make two ends meet!!
