This afternoon I was watching the movie 'Shakuntala Devi' on television. The movie narrated the story of the human computer and how her life had possibly been when she was alive. Her relations.. her career goals.. how she struggled with her mind to take decisions.. knowing the judgmental behavior of the society she lived in around the world. Throughout the movie, a line that she said, resonated deeply within. She looked up at the leaves of the tree under which she and her daughter were sitting and she exclaimed, 'Nature is the greatest mathematician!' I nodded.. truly it is.. From the moment we are born to the moment we die.. everything is calculated.. and involves maths. Still in my engineering days.. I had lots of KTs in maths only.. maybe the formulas didn't fascinate me but the very fact that my life.. our lives are a complex combinations of all the subjects that we have/haven't studied in our careers is something I possibly couldn't ignore.. We are living our lives one moment at a time.. Sometimes the situation in a moment is so intense or is so saturated with negativity.. that we tend to forget of all the moments that we have lived happily.. I always ask this question to myself whenever I am utterly down or upset.. 'Am I going to live for another 100 years?' The answer comes.. 'NO!' The next question I ask myself is 'Is the problem that I am thinking about or the person because of whom I am worried.. is gonna stay after 100 years?' The answer.. 'NO!'. The next question 'Is the society.. the people that are currently being utterly judgmental are gonna be alive after 100 years?’ The answer is 'NO!'. The conclusion... if my very own existence is so temporary.. so limited.. then why do I take the shortcomings.. the downfalls.. the insults.. the accusations such that they are going to stay permanent? The very thought of everything being so temporary and ever changing challenges me to think why do I have to be tensed and worried of the situations that come up in my life as if they are going to be permanent? NOTHING STAYS PERMANENT!! So if nothing is permanent then why are the adversities stopping me from living in the moment? The one who said ' Life is too short to keep worrying of the negativity.. rather it is to be lived with utmost positivity.. ' is so damn correct.. We are not gonna be there in this world after 100 years.. so why not live in the moment.. be thankful for what we have with us rather than grieving over what we don't? Be forgiving rather than destroying one's own self with vengeance.. start working on the dreams rather than just thinking of it.. make mistakes and laugh at it harder than anyone else.. be courageous enough to accept one's own shortcomings and mistakes when someone points to it.. and the most important love others and spread your love to others as if there's no tomorrow..!! The great scholars taught the most complex subjects, but the enlightened ones taught the one and only realistic theory.. that EVERYTHING MATERIALISTIC SUMMED UP IN THE UNIVERSE.. STILL YIELDS A ZERO!!
